The Author
Dr. Rachel Melvald, LCSW, DSW, SEP, is a licensed psychotherapist, researcher, neurodesigner, and practicing wellness coach with decades of experience in the mental health public and private sectors. She specializes in trauma, self-esteem, ADHD, couples, and family systems work. Rachel is certified in Jungian analytical studies, infant attachment models, and somatic experiencing trauma recovery offering expertise in sensory integration, nervous system regulation, and relational attunement.
Her architectural and design training in neuroscience and design at the Southern California Institute of Architecture and the Poli Design Academy led to the development of a trauma-informed design model. She founded Psychitecture Inc., a coaching and consultancy firm that aligns interior design with personal and collective growth, applying neuroaesthetics and neurodesign principles.
Rachel is affiliated with the Johns Hopkins Neuroaesthetics Blueprint program and ANFA (Academy of Neuroscience for Architecture), integrating neuroscience to enhance immunology, mental health, and wellness in built environments. She currently hosts her podcast The Psychitect is IN, YouTube show Neuro-DESIGN, presenting at conferences globally.
