As we all know, art and politics are intertwined and inseparable, and with the current political climate regarding immigration, it is necessary to document and narrate through art. On Saturday, July 28th from 7-9 pm the USC Annenberg Space for Photography will host the panel discussion Telling Border Stories. The discussion will be led by Tijuana singer-songwriter Ceci Bastida and Los-Angeles based artist and activist Ernesto Yerena Montejano, and Texas-based photographer Adriana Monsalve. They will use the art of photography to discuss the ongoing issues of immigration and deportation represented by the literal and figurative ever-resent border.

The words can evoke a variety of emotions, but with this particular theatre piece, the words will bring out only the darkest corners of your psyche. It is designed to be an immersive experience that blurs the line between reality and performance, forcing audiences to question if there is a difference between reality and nightmare. The piece will premiere on June 7th and run for two weekends in the Arts District of DTLA with the exact location provided on the morning of the event.
