There are two types of people: Those that are good at dancing and those that wish they were good at dancing. The dance-talents can contort and sway and wiggle and swing at the club, at a party, heck even at the grocery store while the dance-wannabes awkwardly stand and wistfully watch. Well on August 8 -12, people of all dance abilities (or lack thereof) can come together and dance the summer away at the LA Summer Bachata Festival. The festival will have workshops for people learning to take their first steps and people ready to take their cha-cha-cha to the next level, networking parties, and tantalizing perofrmances. You can literally dance the night away!
As women, we are born into this world with the odds stacked against us. And we know it. However, we dive headlong into everything, working and fighting, struggling and thriving. BREAK GLASS is a site-specific dance performance exploring what it means to be a woman working in a man's world. Through dance and physical movement, the all-female ensemble expresses motifs surrounding the experience of hitting the glass ceiling, climbing the corporate ladder and the barriers that often prevent women from getting a foot in the door.
